The Frankford Yellow Jackets were part of the NFL from 1924 to 1931, though its origins dates back to as early as 1899 with the Frankford Athletic Association. In 1926, The Yellow Jackets finished the season with a phenomenal record of 14-1-2 and became the NFL World Champions. The Jackets‘ 14 wins during the 1926 championship season set an NFL record for regular season victories that stood until 1984, when it was broken by the 15-1-0 San Francisco 49ers. Today the Philadelphia Fire Department’s Engine14, stationed in Frankford, have adopted the Yellow Jackets moniker on their fire trucks. For the first few years of the Eagles’ existence, they wore powder blue and yellow uniforms similar to those worn by the Yellow Jackets. Yellow and blue represent the color of the flag of Philadelphia. The Eagles wore replicas of these jerseys on September 23, 2007 as part of the team’s 75th anniversary season. The Eagles would win the game in a rout 56-21. Yellow Jacket field aka Frankford Field was in the Northeast section of Philadelphia on Frankford Ave. Since Art History 101 is located on Frankford Ave in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia we felt it was only right to pay homage to the Frankford Yellow Jackets.Due to the popular demand of last years Yellow Jackets release we felt this was the perfect time to make a new version of the Yellow Jackets tee.
